Basketweave or Brick Stitch scarf? >>>

Looking for something mindless while my students are testing.

I’m assuming you know the basketweave stitch. Nearly identical.

So I suppose it makes no difference which one I choose. Just looking for input.

That’s what I call a basketweave, though technically, I guess BW has one row of knit or purl between the changes. I do mine in k6,p6 for 6 rows.

That “brick stitch scarf” looks like the scarf I made for my son (and the pink one I’m working on now for my daughter) but I did it 5x5.

I really like this pattern – I feel like it goes really smoothly and I think the basketweave would be a little less smooth because of having to do the extra knit row in between each section.

Here’s a great variation on the basketweave pattern. I made it in a verigated yarn and it looks beautiful. See attached.
