Basic Knitting Question- am I missing something...?

Im making a pattern from Sally Muir and Joanna Osbornes “Best in Show” dog book, and am already stuck on the 3rd row… Im making the springer spaniel, and Row 3 says " Inc, k2, k2tog, k1, k2tog, k2, inc (11 sts)". However when I knit this row I am left with 3 stitched on my needle… just wondering if anyone can tell where I am going wrong?
Thanks for your help!Screen Shot 2021-05-16 at 4.09.38 AM

I’ve looked at the maths and it does work out right - start with 11, knit front & back increase, knit 2, knit 2 together decrease, knit 1, knit 2 together decrease, knit 2, knit front and back increase.
All I could think of was maybe it was a difference in the type of increase used, but you can’t use M1 at the start of a row either way (it’s early for me to be up!)
Cute choice of dog, anyway!
