Basic cables project?

I need an uncomplicated pattern to learn basic cables. I’m good at hats, dishcloths etc. I’ve searched Rav but nothing floats my boat.

Here’s the hat I just cast on tonight, speaking of owls… Short cables are perfect to start out with! Uncomplicated and I get to play with my buttons to find the perfect eyes. :happydance:
