Barbara Walker Gingerbread castle question

I’ve run into new stitches for me in rows 37 through 40.

They are k2-b and p2-b. I looked in the glossary and it seems pretty clear. But someone questioned whether this could also be referring to the back loop.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think it’s k2 and p2 tbl, not in the stitch below. When you knit in the st below, you do it one st at a time, and the ones on either side are regular stitches.

Thanks suzeeq. Do you know where I can see what the results of the different stitches look like? :frowning:

The Walker Treasury project has samples of some of the stitches in her books. The K1b stitch is found in Fisherman’s rib, also called the Shaker stitch and there’s a tutorial with pictures here.

{{{{suzeeq}}}} !!! You are FABULOUS!

Thank you so very, very much. But LOL talk about confusing.

The K1b used in Fisherman’s Rib is the K1 below not the other one. It is confusing when there is one abbreviation that has more than one meaning. The second link Sue gave says in a note that Barbara Walker uses K1b to mean K1 tbl, so Suzeeq is right.

Thanks for those links Sue.

It is confusing when there’s more than one meaning for a term. Sometimes you have to look at the item’s picture to try and figure out which one is meant. Or do stitch counts; like when a pattern says to make one when the increase actually used is kfb…
