Baffled by pattern: Knit all rows or stockinette?

Using this hat pattern for my first time knitting in the round, and my first time following a chart.

It says to knit rows 6&7, then to “follow the chart,” which doesn’t specify knit or purl.

Should I knit the odd rows and purl the even? Or purl the odd and knit the even?

The pic looks like stockinette.

The joy of working in the round is that there’s often no purling, because you’re always on a Right Side row! So just knit and follow the chart for the colorwork.
