Back from a hiatus and can’t figure out a WIP!

Okay, I cannot for the life of me figure out the center section of a shawl I’m 3/4 finished with. (My knitting stuff ended up in storage.)

It’s the absolutely beautiful Forgotten Garden shawl:

There’s a right section (with increases) a middle 24-stitch repeating pattern, and a left section. So far so good. BUT there’s a center rib that isn’t mentioned (verbally) in the pattern. The rib itself is a YO, K, YO. But I’ve got 31 stitches from marker to marker currently.

My brain is breaking. As I approach that middle section, do I finish the last full repeat, then the left wing chart line, then the center spine, then the right wing chart line? That seems like it would be the right number of stitches and the pattern would be consistent.

Obviously I don’t want to post a proprietary pattern, but I’m attaching a photo of the center spine.

Thanks!!!

Welcome to KnittingHelp!
Very pretty shawl indeed. Where are your makers relative to the right, middle and left sections? Are the markers either side of the 24 stitch repeat?
It looks like the repeat has a leaf design and then an L shape near the center spine (blue lines) but in the repeat closest to the needles the L-shape seems off (red circle) or maybe I’m just not seeing it flat out?

Thank you!!! I figured it out: I had added (somehow) an extra stitch to that right hand side, which meant my trying to match stitches to pattern wasn’t working. I did a subtle (I hope) decrease to make it line up again.

Basically the pattern is:
Knit the right wing pattern.
Knit multiple repeats of the 24-stitch block.
Knit the left wing pattern.
Do a center “spine” stitch.
Knit the right wing pattern.
Knit multiple repeats of the 24-stitch block.
Knit the left wing pattern.
Purl the wrong side.

Can’t believe how rusty I got!!
