Ok I’m halfway through the body of my sweater and I realize that I did the 2 back decreases on the side than once in the back, not twice in the back. Will this skew the drape of the sweater? From the pattern:
1.Begin body
On next round, all sizes: K1 3(54), pm A. K next 3(18), pm B. K next 3(18), pm B. K to end of round.
- Back waist decreases
Next round (round 1): k to 3 sts before first marker B. ssk, k1 slm, k1, k2tog. Knit to 3 sts before next marker B, ssk, k1, slm, k1, k2tog. Work to end of round.
I did the decreases at pm A and the 2nd pm B.
Should I pull out the stitches and fix or leave it alone and hope the sweater doesn’t drape funny?

If you’re not too many rounds away from the waist shaping, I’d rip back and get the decreases in the correct place. For myself, I’d rip back no matter where. Waist shaping is a pretty detail that adds to the overall appearance of a sweater and you might as well get it right.
It depends on the yarn and stitch pattern you’re using too. In a light color cotton yarn, the decreases are going to be more visible than in a dark fuzzy wool.
I haven’t touched the sweater in a few days, because I didn’t want to get any further, just to pull the stitches out. I think I had already made the decision to pull the stitches as I wrote the post for help. I think I was just hoping for some magical way to fix it, but we know that never is with knitting.
Thank you for responding.
Just as I thought:

It’s never easy, that’s for sure. I’ve been there often myself. Good luck with it and may the knitting go faster this time around.
