Baby sock help!

Ok, I’m doing ok so far, but I’m at the point where I’m turning the heel I guess. I’m supposed to “slip 1” before knitting or purling the row. How the heck do I “slip 1?” :??

Put the needle in the stitch, like you are going to knit or purl it, but do not wrap the yarn around the needle and do a stitch. just simply slip it off the left needle onto the working needle. Continue knitting/purling across the row as normal. Hope this helps!

Tina you fat lard, eat your dinner!

Thanks

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: I love that movie!

Great job on the sock, btw!

Best movie ever!

It looks great!!

Aren’t baby socks the funnest? And adult socks are built just like baby socks, just bigger!

Oooh, turning the heel is the fun part!!!

:cheering: You did it!! Wasn’t that fun??

Fun? More like nerve wrecking! I’ve noticed a few mistakes so far, a hole where I missed picking up a slip stitch and a weird lump at the top of the sock where the ribbing ends. But, I didn’t expect to be an expert from the beginning. Especially never using double pointed before. It’s all thanks to Amy!!!

I can’t see any mistakes we are always more critical of our own work I noticed the other night that a sweater I bought for 60 dollars had about 50 mistakes!! (yeah I check everything I own now for errors even things that other people are wearing don’t act like you don’t! :roflhard: )

I have a new question about this pattern, I hope it doesn’t get lost in here. When you get done ribbing the cuff it tells you to knit for 3 rounds before dividing for the heel. That’s what creates that weird bump that isn’t on the sample sock. Is that a typo?

As discussed in chat (cough.nudge.hint), it’s fine… the rib pulls in, and the other stitch doesn’t… so it’s ‘spread’ out a little…

Oh, it turned out beautifully!!

I still think there’s a bump there that shouldn’t be. What size baby are these for, they seem quite big.

Okay, call me crazy, but it looks to me like you purled three rounds instead of knitting three rounds. And the heel flap looks like the “wrong” side as well. Could you have turned it inside out by mistake?? (because the ribbing wouldlook the same inside out).

I could have

Looking at it, I think you’re right!

I did that with my first sock!
