Baby sock heel confusion

brand new here also a new knitter, hope you all can help.

Heel: knit the stiches of needle no 1 on needle 3 (did this) these 20 st will form the heel side of the sock. Purl 1 row.
Needle 1: slip 1, k 1
Needle 2: slip 1 st stich purl wise, purl the entire row

work these two needles an additional 8 times, so in total 18 rows are knitted.

i guess my question is do i work needle 1 accross with a slip 1, knit 1 then move to needle 2? or work slip 1, k 1 then start on needle 2? i just cant figure this out…

I have done a couple of rows and end up taking them out, it just doesn’t seem right…it has 3 1/2" of ribbing before starting the heel.
the confusing part to me is working needle 1 and needle 2, i feel like it should just be 1 needle worked…i have done socks but it was a different pattern and seemed eaiser then this one. hope someone understands my confusin

oh, do i purl the row that has the stiches that i just placed on on needle 3? or do i purl needle 2/

well, no one responded to my post for help on this sock pattern the way it was written even tho it seemed that several did look at the question. Being very frustrated I called the store (was unable to call when I first posted because they were closed Sunday and Monday) that was why I needed help…anyway it was s1, k1 entire row and needle 2 should have been needle 1 (so you aren’t working on both needles just back and forth on needle 1 for 18 rows) seems it was a pattern mis-print…YAY it isn’t me!!! :woot: :woot:

I’m sorry it either got overlooked or whatever.:shifty:

I’m glad you figured it out. BTW…sometimes if you need an answer right away I find that looking up another pattern can help. Especially with something like socks where the basic pattern is done pretty much the same. This is a basic sock pattern that might help you sometime. Many of us have learned socks on it.
