This sweater is for a co-worker’s baby girl due in October. It’s Sugar & Cream worsted cotton in the Twilight Ombre colorway (2 1/2 balls). The pattern http://www.minidata.co.nz/major/freepatt/patt01.htm calls it the “Five-hour baby sweater,” and it’s quite easy. I had to use size 8 needles to get the right gauge, though. (Does anyone here get 4 st/inch with size 10 1/2 needles?!) I think I might add a purple ribbon at the top.
It’s beautiful!!! What a lucky baby :cheering:
I think adding the ribbon is a great idea. It’s really cute as is, but I think it’d just make it that much more special, you know? Have you thought about doing a green one? (Can you tell my favorite color is green?) Are your other projects for the same baby?
I really love those colors! It’s very pretty!
I’m going back and forth between purple and green. We’ll see what jumps off the shelf at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.
And this is the first of four babies-of-friends that are coming between now and April - yay!
Awwww, that’s so cute!
I agree, add a ribbon, it would be a sweet touch.
Darling and thanks for the pattern, I needed a baby cardigan pattern!
That is a very easy sweater… I have made about 5 of them… a ribbon would look really nice!
I have only put buttons on them… I will try a ribbon next time…
That is adorable!!
