Baby hoodie pattern help please

So, I am in the process of making my first baby hoodie. I’m a little confused about some things in the pattern, if someone could help me, that would be great!

This is the pattern I’m using:

I wanted something very basic!

I’m confused though about a couple little things. It mentions at the end of the back part to put the stitches on a holder. It then starts in on making the front like the back. Am I supposed to use a second ball of yarn to start the front?

I have NO idea what the heck a placket is! It also mentions adding a second ball of yarn to that, am I in need of three balls for this pattern?

Sorry if those are stupid questions, I just want to make sure that I do this right!!

Thanks everyone! You all are always great at helping me with any issues that I may have!! :knitting:

Yes, go ahead and use another yarn end, it can be from another ball or the other end of the one you’re working on if there’s enough for the front. Or you can cut the yarn on the back piece if you’re pretty sure it’s the right size - leave about 6" for a tail to weave in later.

The placket is at the front, like a short buttonband. You won’t need a 3rd skein of yarn, again, just use the end from the other side of the skein you’re working with.
