Baby Dress Hem curls up at botton

:??:knitting: Hi, This is Barbara again, I made a Mint green Baby Dress quite awhile back and never finished it. I just finished it and the problem I am having is the hem keeps rolling up. I tried using the steam Iron by putting a white pillow case on top of the hem and putting the steam iron over the pillow case. It seemed to have worked and now it is still rolling up not quite as bad before I used the steam iron. The bottom of the hem was using the thumb way of casting on and then knit one, purl one, for 8 rows. I would appreciate any suggestion anyone might have. I want to send it to my granddaughter who just had a baby girl a few months back. It is real pretty. Have a great Memorial weekend.

Do you mean you knit a row and then purled a row or ribbed with k1p1 ribbing? Ribbing doesn’t usually curl, but stockinette will always curl if left on it’s own. At the top of the forum is a sticky post that addressed curling stockinette. See if there are some suggestions there that can help you out.
