well it only took me until my son was 3 months old to complete his afghan ! In my defense I started it and put it down to do a cross-stitch sampler for his room.
That came out gorgeous! Better late than never!

An afghan like that is something that he will love for a long long time … so I wouldn’t worry about when it was completed.

The Bernat site is having issues at the moment, but if you go to www.bernat.com you can search free patterns and it is the Bernat Baby Coordinates Chunky Cables Blanket (to knit). I did not use chunky yarn though - I’ve used Caron Simply Soft when giving as a gift and used Berocco Comfort for my sons. I did a guage swatch and adjusted my cast-on so that it would be a little larger.

I stated one for DD when I was pregnant. She’s now 7 and its still not finished! Ack! In my defense I lost the pattern (but I admit I coulda made it up and finished it!).
So 3 mos old is great! And it turned out beautifully, so was worth the wait :o)
