Baby blanket

Hello!

well I’m knitting a baby blanket for my cousin (who just moved out to Hawii and and her entire family is in Michigan (husbands in army)) anyway.
ive found a couple of patterns, but nothings thats got me too crazy.

if someone could help me find one, id like one that isnt too hard, i like difficulty but i cant knit it for a year!

also one that doesnt need a TON of yarn, the place wher i go to averages $9-13 a skein so this is going to get pretty expensive.

Thanks in advance!

how about searching through stitch books or online for stitches and just repeat the pattern? i love the basketweave look on a baby blanket!

i have and thats my problem, i cant find one i like.

i hink what i want is a heart pattern that i can change colors in. does anyone know where to find one?

There may be more here than you want to look through, but at least they’re all in one place.

This is my favotire…not that I knit blankets, 'cause I dont :roflhard: but if I had to, I’d knit this one! Pinwheel Baby Blanket

Cautionary note: maybe I did something wrong, but I started the pinwheel baby blanket. Actually I was enjoying it, it was neat! Then I turned it over… all that beautiful stockinette on the front side, and a sea of purl bumps and yarn-overs on the back side… :crying: . I just couldn’t stand the back of it. Frogged it and started over. This time I’m doing the Big Bad Baby Blanket from the SnB book. By using just 3 markers, most rows are a section of garter, a section of knit stitches, a section of purl stitches, and a final section of garter. No counting. Best of all, both sides look identical.

I didn’t know it, but I guess I wanted a reversible blanket! :rofling:

The hooded Baby Blanket on LionBranYarn.com is what I’m making and it’s simple and (so far) looks nice. It’s (on RS) 5 rows of seed, 4 of knit, 5 rows of seed, 4 of purl, and so on, then a hood on the top. But For hawaii that might not be a good one since the friend I’m making it for is going to have cold winters.

It only takes One 1b skien of worsted weight yarn. It calls for Pound Of love from lion brand, but I’m using Giant Pounder from red heart and it’s soft and comfy.

I’ve got the pattern somewhere…
