Attaching pockets

I’m knitting a sweater from pattern for the first time. The first 9 inches of the sweater were knit in the round but then the pattern had me place 10sts on a holder for the top of left pocket, place next 101sts on holder for front, place next 10sts on holder for top of right pocket and leave the remaining 121sts on needle for back. Then it told me to set aside an knit pockets on straight needles. I’ve finished that and now want to attach the pockets. The pattern reads
"With RS facing and larger cir needle, k42 pocket sts."
How do I do this??
Thanks for the help!

The top outer edge of the pockets are on holders. What you’re going to do is work across the top stitches of the pocket liners that you’ve already knit and then continue with the sweater stitches. Later, you’ll go back and finish the top of the pocket.

How do I knit across the stitches? The tricky part is getting the stitches off of my straight needle and onto the circular, which has the 121 stitches on it already. I’m about ready to pull my hair out. Haha. This is driving me nuts!

You knit them off the straight, using the yarn that you’re using on the sweater.
