At long last!

Hey, remember when I had said I sold nine designs to Lion Brand? After waiting to see publication since last May, I just discovered that one of the crochet patterns has finally been published. Look! I designed and made all three of these in this photo. If you know how to crochet, this is a really easy pattern.

Hopefully I’ll soon see some of the others, lots of which are for knitting.

Congrats! :cheering:

WTG Yvonne! :cheering:

Congrats! I like that pattern alot.

Wow! That’s quite an accomplishment. Congratulations! :cheering:

Ha, ha. Congrats!! You know I was trying to crochet a baby blanket, and I had a few tries that turned out like that. Its really cool!!! Congrats again!!

GREAT job!

Too bad they didnt give you credit! :frowning: I wonder why???

WAY TO GO!!! :happydance:

Wow! How much do you get a pattern?

AWESOME! :happydance: :cheering: :XX:

Congrats!!! :happydance:

Let’s see–
Kelly, I don’t get credit because I sold the design to them; they now own it.
As far as how much a designer is paid, it depends on the design. It’s in line with what other major yarn manufacturers pay, generally between $100 and $400 or so. And of course they send you the yarn to complete the project. When they want multiple copies of the same design, as in this case, they pay for the design once and then pay for each of the extras, though not at the full price.
But for me it wasn’t so much about the money (though it’s nice). It was more to have some designs accepted and actually published. You know, the whole ego thing. :rofling:

How very cool!! :cheering: :cheering:

:cheering:
Hey Yvonne–that’s GREAT! I think it must be wonderful to have ANYTHING published–much less a pattern…and you sold more than one! I guess I’m thinking you should have your name on it as well, but hey–Lion Brand paid you for it, so it’s theirs now. But you did a great job–and for me, ANY pay would be wonderful!

The lack of my name on the pattern is okay with me; I knew it up front.
Like I said, basically I just wanted to see something published and be able to say “I did that.”

That’s impressive! Congratulations! :cheering:

Fan-tab-ulous!! I love the design and I’m sure you must be very proud and deservedly so!! Congratulations!

What’s cool is that if they decide to make it a pattern you have to pay for, you dont have to pay because you know it already!

:rofling: Good point!!!

Congratulations!!!
That is so completely awesome, you must be thrilled!!

Can I ask how you submit your patterns to them?
I would looove to get paid for some designs (although I’d probably keep giving them away for free, too…I like to see my name  LOL)
