Arm warmer thumb

Hi,

I am a newbie knitting a pair of arm warmers for the first time and I have got down to row 11 on the thumb gusset but I’m a bit stuck. I have 51sts on my needles, I changed to yarn b and knitted 21 sts then turned my work. I’m not sure what the next step means, I thought I needed to cast on another 2sts and purl these and the next 10 sts to make up 12 sts? However, if I do this I am left with 11sts at the end of the needle and not sure what I should do with these if anything? The pattern says to then work with the 14 live remaining sts in the thumb section so I am a little confused. Could someone help me please?

Thanks
Michelle

Welcome to the forum!
Cast on the 2sts, purl them and then purl the following 12sts. That’ll give you the 14sts that the pattern calls for. It’s really not very clear on this point. No wonder it was confusing

Thanks so much for your reply and help.
