Arm hole stitches

I’m making a Lopi sweater and ready to put the tubes together. On other sweaters for the arms, I’ve split the stitches that go onto a holder to the first 5 and last 5 of a round if you have 10 stitches for example.
This pattern just says put 11 onto a holder. Seems odd since the increases for arm are generally sort of hidden when you split the stitches. Should I split them to the first 6 of the round and last 5, or would it not make a difference?

Depending on the pattern, it’s not going to make a difference. If the sleeves have a stitch pattern you might want to consider that but often the sleeves are plain. The yoke is usually where the pattern detail is located.
What is the name of your pattern and designer? The Lopi sweaters are so lovely (and warm).

It’s a Lopi pattern. Son picked out the wool when we were in Iceland. Great place to visit if you ever get the chance.

Great looking sweater and fabulous yarn. I hope to visit soon. Have fun with the yoke pattern!
