Appreciate help with a stitch instruction

Hi - this is my first post. I’m trying to get back into knitting and have a pattern that calls for “sl 2 kwise wyif” Please - how do you do this?

Bring the yarn to the front between the needles (the same way you would if you were going the purl). Now slip the next 2 sts to the right needle as it shows in this video. When you slip the sts, you don’t work them, just pass them from the left needle to the right needle

The English for these cryptic abbreviations would be

“Slip 2 knitwise with yarn in front.”

Thank you very much salmonmac and DogCatMom. Both the video and the English translation were a terrific help. I have not knitted in more years than I want to admit and back then it was mostly flat work. Now I’m trying to remember what I used to know and go a lot further. I really appreciate all the help I can get.

You’ve come to the right place! Welcome to KH.
