Anyone used this yarn?

Is anyone familiar with Red Heart Casual Cot’n Blend yarn? I want to order it from JoAnn, but I can’t really tell much from the picture. It looks similar in texture to Lion Brand Homespun yarn (ugh!). Can anybody offer insight here? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I knitted my mom a zig zag scarf out of something I lost the label too… I knew it was red heart and looked close to lion brand’s homespun and now I think this is it… I didn’t have any trouble with it at all knitted up nicely for me only thing was the fringe fayed out afterwards like a bad perm… mom told me next time to tie a knot and that will not happen…

I LOVE!!! Casual Cot’n… I made my niece a poncho out of it, and am hoarding the little bit that I have left for a scarf for myself. It knits up really fast, and super soft. It’s not at all as fuzzy and fluffy as Homespun, more of a dense boucle if that makes any sense :??
It does fray, so I wouldn’t recommend using it for fringe or anything, but it makes a nice, soft, slightly heavy fabric (depending on your needles - I used either 11’s or 13’s, I think it was 13’s) and wasn’t at all splitty or hard to work with.
Have fun with it!!

I did the Elegant Knit & Crochet Top off of the C&C website in the Casual Cot’n. It’s not as “fluffy” as the Homespun, so you can see your stitches in it a lot more, but there is some texture to it.

You can see the yarn a little closer in this pic. Looks pretty cheap here, too!

Thank you so much for all the advice! You guys are awesome!

BTW: The texture/nubbiness of the yarn makes it forgiving of uneven stitches and minor mistakes too. It was still smooth enough to knit with easily. Made it the perfect yarn for my first garment!
