Anyone see the movie P.S. I Love You?

I am planning on seeing the movie “P.S. I Love You” next Saturday with two friends. I can’t wait!!  Gerard Butler is my FAVORITE actor.    I first “found” him when I saw the movie version of “Phantom Of the Opera” on tv in June. I’ve been hooked on him ever since!!

If you saw the movie how did you like it? I know I will no matter what the critics say.:woohoo:

Yes.
It’s pretty much the sweetest thing ever, and Gerry Butler is v.v. fine, IMHO. :inlove:

I haven’t seen it yet, but I sort of really want to because James Marsters has a role in it. (The guy who played Spike, the blond guy, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.)

What can I say? He’s my guilty pleasure. :teehee:

With you there sister!

Has anyone who has seen it read the book? I loved the book and I don’t want to be too disappointed in the movie if they changed a lot. I’m still not convince that Hillary Swank was the best choice for Holly based in her description in the book.

The commercial for it makes me tear up, so I don’t know if I should see it! My stepmom said we’re going to see it when I’m in Manitoba, but I’m afraid it will just make me sad.

I read the book in one day. I enjoyed it. It isn’t important to me if the movie is very different from the book because I’m mainly going to see:heart: Gerard play the husband. If he were not in it…I’d wait and rent it. But as it is I can’t wait to buy the DVD when its available.

I read the book too, and I really hope they didn’t screw it up either.

Another vote for the book! I’ll probably see the movie, but I’ll be very disappointed if they ruin it! I highly recommend reading all of Ceclia Ahern’s novels!

I just got back from the movie. It was good- I cried the whole way through. The book is 10 times better but the movie was good too.
Gerard Butler…what can i say…DH is mad that I kept saying how cute he was thru the whole thing!

I really want to see it, but I made it about 4 pages into the book before I had to put it down because I was crying too much to be able to handle it, so don’t know if it’s a good idea

I saw it last night and I enjoyed it so much. I teared up a few times but nothing out of control. Gerry sure is HANDSOME and a real eye pleaser. He did a great job in his acting as he always does. No wonder he is my favorite actor. I loved where he was on stage singing “Mustang Sally”. I never really cared for that song but with his “interpretation” of it…I LOVED it.:muah:
I can’t wait to own the DVD and add it to my “Gerry movie collection” so I can watch it a few more times to see what I may have missed the first viewing.:happydance:
As good as this movie is it will never take the place of my favorite movie “Phantom Of The Opera” with Gerry as the Phantom.

AMEN!!! I had to watch Phantom again.

I saw it when I was in Manitoba visiting my parents and it was good! I was expecting a cute romance movie but it turned out to be a really great story. I think I cried the whole way through, we had a whole box of kleenex with us and we definitely needed a few. It was sad, but also very funny. I was laughing through my tears!

I wasn’t sure if I should see this movie or not. I am still having a hard time losing Daniel and I knew I would just cry through the whole thing. Well, I did.
I don’t even really care for Hilary Swank in romantic rolls but I think she was a great Holly.
There were so many parallels between my life and the movie. I know what Holly meant when she would talk to Gerry and hear his response. This year on the way home from work on the Saturday before Christmas I thought, “Well, I have tomorrow to run errands and then I am off for 2 days! Wow. I never get 2 days off in a row. What will I do? Ha! I can sit on the computer for 2 days straight playing Civilization. Daniel would have a FIT! Haha. I think I will.”

Well, I woke up Christmas Eve morning to mom complaining that the computer wouldn’t work. Specifically, the keyboard. I changed keyboards, uninstalled and reinstalled and repeatedly rebooted the darn thing. No luck it just beeped incessantly. After a couple hours I gave up and turned it off. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day involved with my family. My brother offered to loan us his computer and mom agreed to have him bring it over during the week. Well… Wednesday morning my mom booted the computer and the stupid thing worked fine-and has ever since. Go figure.

I think the movie was beautifully done and I know I will enjoy the book also.
