Hoping to start this whirl into the matrix shawl next but I could do with some further instructions and although there’s a video it’s in polish and my polish is non existent! Does anyone know what this would be called so I can find some more help?

What specifically are you asking about? Posting that much of a pattern presents a copyright issue. You can delete it I think. The link I posted will allow anyone to look at the pattern.
Oops, will delete.
I like it, would be interested to know the stitch pattern as well.
From reading the pattern I think it’s a mosaic stitch pattern.
I think GG is right about it being mosaic knitting (it’s tagged on ravery). Not tried it myself (yet), but there are video tutorials and there are members of the forum who have made fabulous things with mosaic.
This note on ravelry may help, about following the video for the pattern. Lots of people seem to say it’s a very big project to take on, you might want to practise the mosaic first on a swatch to see if you enjoy it.

Thank you. Now you’ve pointed it out I see mosaic on the page. I so totally missed that! I’ll blame missing it on decaffeination.
Finishing my coffee first wouldn’t have changed it. I just didn’t look. I’m glad you did!
It’s definitely mosaic and has instructions in English which you can download for free.
I agree with @Creations it seems like a big project, and tbh it doesn’t seem that exiting, just repeating the same few rows again and again. Pulling from both ends would drive me nuts.
Mosaic is very easy to get in a rhythm with, once you’ve got the first few rows done it will flow nicely.
If you have a cake of Scheepjes Whirl and aren’t sure what to do then this is an enjoyable knit https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wrap-me-in-sunshine-shawl-2
Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate your input. To be honest when I bought the yarn I was full of enthusiasm for a big project and then I had a dawning realisation of just how big it was going to be and I lost all interest. I’m going to return the yarn I think!
However I’m definitely going to have a play around with this stitch with some other yarn: one where I can see some progress before 2027. ![]()
This stitch is absolutely gorgeous! The texture and design look so intricate — it must be a unique technique. I’ve seen something similar before, but I can’t quite put my finger on the name. It’s so interesting how certain stitches can create such beautiful, detailed patterns.
I think its Lace Mesh:
Multiple of 3 stitches.(cast on minimum of 6 stitches)
Row 1: K2,*yo, sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k stitches: rep from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 2: Purl
Row 3:k1, *sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k stitches, yo; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, k2.
Row 4: Purl
