Anyone have Photoshop 7 or something similar?

Could anyone do something like this for me, if I supplied the (uncopyrighted) image?

I could do it for you.

Me too…I created an action in Photoshop for charting after I read that article!

Woohoo…fight over me and everything! OK, now can EITHER of you make up my mind for me? hehe.

You know, the one thing I wondered about when creating the action…maybe you have some insight into this Silver…it creates a graph made of perfect squares. Shouldn’t the squares (uh, rectangles, I guess) be wider than they are tall? Easy enough to fix…but it just got me thinking…

Denise…why don’t you jsut post the image here…whoever getes to it first can take care of it for you.

Yeah, to make it fit a knitting graph, you can skew the image to be wider than it is tall. That’s the one thing about that tutorial that bugs me. LOL

What if Deni and I share you?? :shifty:

Here’s mine…for ANOTHER DK hat. WHITE SOX Logo for BIL. Needs to be 20 or a few more sts wide. Please ignore the shadow around the edge.

How many stitches wide, Kelly?

OMG you are fast, Sil!! I was editing to include that while you were answering!

at least 20 sts wide…maybe even 25. Thanks!!!

LOL Ok… I’ll get it to you tomorrow!

Here you go Kelly…

Ok Kelly… the smallest I could get it was to 38 sts wide. :expressionless: Any smaller and too much detail is lost… it’ll look like a blob instead of a sock. Trust me, if I cared about baseball, I would have just made you a blob, but I’m more of a football girl.

Anyway, I hope 38 sts is ok. Or should I bend over and take my thrashings?

OMG Silver you are THE Most AWESOME!!! MUAH MUAH MUAH!!! :inlove:

Julie… :roflhard: Pls remember this is for my BIL…I grew up on the NORTH SIDE and agree with you! Although, ironically, I dont follow baseball. Things like Cubs/Sox loyalty must be inborn…

WOOT! Did you all hear that? I’m the MOST awesome!

Um… most awesome what? :roflhard:

Um… :shifty:

The most awesome…
Graph Maker?
Silver?

I guess I didnt think that far ahead… :shifty:

That’s the hard part, I have to choose just one image…lol

OK, this is the part that I don’t understand about charting…why do the squares need to be different? And if so, is it because knit stitches are taller than they are wide? If that’s right, shouldn’t the squares be taller than they are wide or am I backwards?

It doesn’t matter a WHOLE lot, but knitted stitches are wider than they are tall. So if you chart on regular graph paper with squares, the finished knitting will be shorter and wider than intended. If you graph onto knitter’s graph paper, what you see is what you get.

Ohhhh, I see…that makes sense. It would just take a little more work with the regular paper than the knitting graph paper, then.
