Today must be my day for problems. Who knows a bit about blogs and html? Could you go visit my blog and tell me why might the blogger ad that runs across the top of the page all smashed into one corner? I didn’t do anything to the template to change it that I know of. Is it their problem I should just ignore for now and see if it corrects itself…or is it likely something I did. (although all I did today was add a post…I didn’t even go into the template at all.)
Anyone Blog Savy?
Hmmm…it looks fine now…but as a general rule, when there’s a problem, it’s usually Blogger’s fault
Then maybe it is something in my computer because it is still squashed…But I am going to assume it is Blogger’s problem or my silly 'puter if it looks fine to everyone else.
Yeah, it’s all squished… I’m trying to view source, but it won’t let me.
I’ll have another look from work. It maybe due to a setting being in the wrong place. I’ve seen it once before, it’ll just take me a little bit to remember the fix.
Oooh…interesting…I’m a Firefox user, and it still looks fine there, but in IE it’s all squished. Hmmm…
It does look weird in IE, but is fine in Firefox. I looked at the source for both, but nothing stands out as being different. This is a common problem on the internet though that a page doesn’t work well in all browsers. If it’s a new issue it may resolve itself. Otherwise I’m sure one of the guys (or gals) who know more about this can help.
Same here…fine in FF, squished in IE. Must be a coding/template thing b/c other blogs hosted by blogger aren’t squished in IE. Try going to your admin, then template, then the button “change the blogger nav bar” Pick a different color then view to see if that fixes it. If it works and you want to go back to blue after that it will probably reset it so it looks right again.
That didn’t work. Thanks for trying.
Does it have the same problem if you temporarily change it to a different template?
I can do that with out losing what I have posted? I’ll give it a try.
hey…it seems to be fixed now…did you refresh your browser?
yes, you can change template without losing anything. If it shows correctly with a different template, it has to be a template problem. Maybe write the author to let him/her know if you’d really like to use the same one.
I switched templates and then switched back. Now the squishy bar is fixed and I just have to add back all the side bar changes I made. (& hopefully I won’t screw it up again.)
Thanks.
Vicki
Great. Must’ve been a little change in the template you made. It’s amazing how sometimes that messes things up. I wonder why the sidebar changes went away though when you switched back?
I found that when I was adding certain links to my blog, it messed up that Blogger thing - something to do with a div tag being in the wrong spot. Happened with the knitting kitty web ring I added - the code in that is all funky. Looks ok now, tho Vicki.
Thanks for all your help! Hopefully it won’t happen again. I know only enough html to mess stuff up good!
Glad you got it worked out. Looks great
