Anybody want to make this Lace Cable Pullover?

I just bought this pattern for a lace cable pullover from Plymouth yarns, Pattern 1264. I’m pretty sure it’s available in most LYSs. I paid $3.50, but they offered to give it to me if I bought the yarn for it.) They had one made up in the store and it’s a GREAT top!

Is anyone interested in doing this with me?

I would LOVE some KH friends to come along side me on this project.

:inlove: thats a very beautiful top, and offered free pattern. A good deal, what colour are u buying ?

I actually didn’t buy the yarn when I bought the pattern b/c I was in Colorado getting ready to fly back to Houston and didn’t have room in my suitcase. I just ordered some bamboo yarn from Webs to make it out of. I ordered color 632, sort of a reddish color.
Do you want to make it with me?

Wow, that is a pretty top!!! :inlove: I´m going to the states next month, I may have to look for that pattern.

Post pix, I´d love to see your progress!!!

Karen

I wonder if you could order it from Plymouth yarns? Do they offer downloads?
I REALLY want someone to do this with me! I’m not the most experienced and would LOVE to progress WITH someone on this!

That is a very pretty pattern but I have too much on my wish list as it is. Plymouth patterns are not easy to find in Ontario

Gina, I like the pattern, but need to know what sizes it comes in. My 'puter isn’t showing me a lot these days.

It comes in S, M, L, XL & XXL.
Approx. Finished size:
36, 41, 45, 48 & 51".
I tried on a size small in the store, although I wear a medium. It was a bit short, but had a lot of stretch. Does that help?

Yes! THank you, I’ll order the pattern and the yarn tomorrow.

Do you have any idea where I’d lengthen it? May Dollyce can help me when we get to that point if the pattern doesn’t explain it well enough for me.

I’m really looking forward to making this with you, it’s my first KAL.

YAY!:cheering:
I would also like to lengthen it and have NO idea how. I was thinking about starting it at a different place on the chart, but I’m not sure where! Any ideas?

Well, no one within fifty miles of here carries the pattern. I guess I’ll call Plymouth and see what they have to say, on Monday. :??

Let me know if you can’t get it. Maybe I can buy one and send it to you.

It might come to that, unfortunately. I called every single LYS and even the ones that stock Plymouth patterns said I couldn’t have it for three to four weeks. Whatever happened to downloads?

I will try again on Monday, though.

Thanks!

Okay, Deb. I’ve got my yarn and am swatching. I talked to my sister (aka knitting guru) and she said to make it longer, start the charts at a different spot.

I don’t have a lot of time to knit, so this make take awhile for me! Are you a fast knitter?

Hi Gina!

Haven’t even bought my yarn yet, RL and my dying computer have been in the way.

How are you liking the pattern so far? Have you found a place to lengthen it yet?

I’m a slow knitter, and don’t have a lot of time, but as soon as I can, I’ll find some yarn. One of the LYS here has closed, and the other one doesn’t have many choices, as she only stocks ‘summer’ yarns this time of year. May have to make a trip to Portland, or order online.

Hopefully, someone else will join in with us, I’d love to see this in different yarns.

Well, I TRIED and TRIED and TRIED swatching with my yarn, but it isn’t working! The bamboo I got is just too splitty to do the PSSOs or SSKs. I think I might just wait awhile on this. And since you don’t have yarn that will work either, let’s give it a go at a later time, okay?

A few weeks at least. I made some calls today, no one around here has the yarns I’ve been thinking of. Sigh.

In the meantime, how has Green Gables been going?

One sleeve is done and I love it. It’s 3/4 length with a lace panel at the bottom that sort of flares out. You can see it here.

That’s wonderful! Looks great on your daughter, also. (That is your daughter?)I really like the sleeves, very cute.

Would that yarn be workable for the Lace Cable Pullover? I know it’s cotton but it’s really pretty cotton.

It’s a little itchy, so I don’t know if I’d want it next to my skin. I should have just bought the yarn the pattern recommends. It’s not expensive. Unfortunately, I bought yarn for a central park hoodie, too, so I can’t justify buying more yarn right now.
