Any suggestions please

I want to knit an afghan with cotton or cotton blend yarn it has to be 4sts to an inch on an 8 or 9 size needle. It would help if there was alot of yardage. Wendy S

Hi Wendy!

Cotton doesn’t usually come in such a thick bulky weight gauge, does it?

Why not try 2 plies of dk weight cotton, and see if you can get the ‘bulky’ stitch gauge.

I needed a heavier cotton gauge for something this past summer (“Tempting” summer top) and I used 2 plies…one dk weight, one lighter dk weight…and got the right gauge in the end.
