Another thought I had on the Harmony needles is that maybe I should just order 2-Size 0 24" and 2-Size 1 24’. What do you think? I don’t have any 32" circulars. Have any of you knitted 2 socks at once on them? I’m just curious if 32" is long enough to use Magic Loop for 2. :??
1to1, I DID knit two at once on magicloop, on a 32 inch needle, but it wasn’t the good soft cable from knitpicks…it was an older susan bates. It was all new to me, so maybe my opinion isn’t so good, but it did seem a little crowded to me. I really think we should all email KnitPicks and lobby for them to offer the fixed circulars sock sizes in 40 inch ! Actually, I’m going to call, because their email system goes through microsoft and I can’t find the SEND button :teehee:
1to1 did you see the candy cane socks? Mom called me this morning with you have to go to knit picks they have candy cane socks :teehee:…
My Magic Loop so far has been 1 sock on 24" with no problems…but I haven’t tried 2 socks…the socks I tried on 2 circs I had one a 16 and one a 24 so I could remeber which needle was first :teehee:…so I can’t really help either…
lol my cats are afraid of the hair dryer…my mom had a dog once that loved to have his fur under the hair dryer…you would turn it on and he would come dancing in…
I just spoke with Georgianna,(very sweet girl), at KnitPicks, and requested that they make 40 inch long fixed circulars in the small sock sizes…I told her not to be surprised if she gets several requests, as we were discussing it in the forum.
Here’s the number…give 'em a call and a request !

Dotty, did she give you any hint that they might possibly consider the idea of 40"? Addis are the same with no 40" with the Lace Needles. Don’t these people know how hot socks with ML is right now?!?! Oh, and thanks for calling. I’ll do the same.
Dustinac, love the candy cane socks. Check out these Pompom ones. http://www.knitpicks.com/Pompom+Bobby+Sox_PD30911220.html
Notice the holes? :oo: You know, we all worry about this but you think they’d try to hide them a little. And, notice the cute little Bear Bootees. As much as I’d like to make them for my nieces and nephews, I really don’t want to buy the book.
:woohoo::woot::cheering::yay::woohoo::woot::cheering::yay::happydance: Just got word from the doctor today that I am released from bedrest!!! She told me not to clean the house, but that I didn’t have to stay at my Grandmothers any longer! My cervix was nice and long and the baby is growing big. She wants me to keep using the nifedephine to keep the contractions at bay until I’m 36 weeks and then to stop that too. I’m so excited! Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes and concerns-I know the bestest knitters in the world!!!
as far as knitting goes, still haven’t done anything since the last time I posted-o well. I did get a 90% on my test today though!
Lieke, love the socks, so pretty.
I’ve got pictures of my first sock. Sorry it’s a couple days late, though. I haven’t cast on for the second one yet, but I think I will do it this weekend.
Ooh, nice sock, annomalley ! I can’t believe you started with a short-row heel sock ! Brave girl, and BEAUTIFUL job !
I’ve been playing with my hand-dyed sock yarn that I received in the trade with RoryGilmore, and did the MOST BEAUTIFUL picot edge ! Wouldn’t you know … IT’S TOO SMALL ! So, I’m just playing around with stitches at this point…too late and too tired to be serious. It does fit my wrist, though, and, remember, I said I was thinking about mittens, too ! Maybe my subconscious took over and MADE ME cast on too few stitches for a sock…:roflhard:

I was making up a pattern for socks, and used 4 knit stitches for the cable, with a ‘purl one, knit through back loop, purl one’…and it came out with a wider space on one side of the twisted knit stitch. Something about twisting that stitch must make the purl beside it looser or something. That’s why the cable spacing doesn’t look right. To correct it, just before I switched off of the cabling section, I increased so that it was ‘purl one, ktbl, purl two’ and it actually looked more balanced.
1to1~ I never noticed that…we should be able to have a peaceful mind now with our socks and holes but I know I won’t :teehee:…those booties are to cute I’m going to see if the library can get the book in for me… great baby gift items :happydance:…Thank you!

dotty~ :passedout: that pattern, the yarn, the edge… to pretty for words!!
We had bad storms here last night too…not as bad as Columbus though… at 2am we heard a loud crack and then Shermee (dog) coming down the steps with 2 kids behind him lol…took sometime to get everyone calm and back in their beds… today is rainy and windy…
my knitting mind is on overload right now…do I want to CO to the snowflake socks…or snowflake mittens… or more Christmas… :teehee:
I hope you guys have a great day and get to enjoy some knitting
Jean - Even with all your 88 stitches it still looks like theres room to do the ML. I’m still undecided on which way to go 2 circs or ML. And I don’t even know if I will like wood but I really want to try them–they are so pretty.
I turned the heel on one sock and will do the other this afternoon.
Have a great weekend. I think the storms have past us now.
