Dustinac, I didn’t buy that yarn last night, but I think RoryGilmore and I are going to work out a nice little trade…we’ll see !

Wow, I see how you can get behind on this thread…I spend so much time at the computer on Saturday nights, that I tend to leave it off as late as I can stand it, on Sundays. Just turned it on and got caught up. I can’t believe today went by so quickly, anyway. I’ve been playing with the JayWalker pattern, trying to alter it with some ribbing, and I’m still having trouble getting the sizing right. I thought that the ribbing would make it so much more forgivable on size, but it hasn’t made that much difference. Still, I think the fit will feel totally different.

Those baby socks turned out adorable, Becka; great grouping of gifts…handmade, all !

I really like that blue, too, annomalley ! You are gettin’ 'er done !

good moring everybody!

I started another pair of socks (I think I’m really addicted)

It’s a real quick knit with thick yarn. 48 sts and I’m already working the gusset (toe-up)

The pattern is scrolls from more sensational knitted socks.

oh Lieke…I definitely need that book, those are gorgeous!!!

Good Morning Socksters!! :blooby:

Lieke~ I love that pattern… that is the one I started a while back but got bored and it got frogged (I never made it past the cuff :teehee:) You make me want to go back and give it another go…maybe I’ll try toe up this time… It looks great!!!

becca~ very cute set!!! :happydance:

annomalley~I just used Austermann on some test knit socks…did you like it? I had it my stash for some time cause everyone raved how the yarn felt with the built in aloe…but I couldn’t tell it…felt like normal sock yarn to me…maybe I stashed it to long :teehee:…looks good!!

Holly~ I have the problem of finishing one sock and then wanting to start a new pattern…forget about the other sock I already know how the pattern will look

Jackie~ I really like Cherry Tree hill too… I have 3 skeins waiting to become something…:teehee:

dotty~ I can’t wait to see the jaywalkers!!

OKey dokey I hope you guys have a great day of sock knitting!! :happydance:

yeah I’m still debating on my next pair over here…

Lieke those look so pretty!

lieke, I love the color and the pattern very pretty!

Jberry16 , I’m trying your toe up baby sock pattern, i started a few times but looks wrong to me. This is the part I’m doing, but the sock only is getting inc on one side. It that right? I’ve never done toe up.

row 1: knit into front and back of first stitch and into front and back of second to last stitch

Beautiful sock, Lieke.cloud9

Congratulations! I’m guessing you’re announcing you have a bun in the oven?:woot:
as far as the sock, every other row you are going to knit into the front and back of the first stitch on that row and into the front and back of the second to last stitch. I did these ml but not sure how you’re doing them. You want to be sure that you’re doing a total of 4 increases on each round. Does that make sense?
I’m at Grandma’s on bedrest-so I’m not checking this as often as I usually do, but will check back with you in a little while to see how things are going. Hope that helps. I based my toe on Silver’s toe up tutorial, only one at a time.

:woot:WooHoo !:woot:

Congratulations, Alex ! Another baby coming ! Wow…245 days is a long countdown ! But that’s lots of KNITTING TIME !

yes but 245 days goes by so fast, the first 3 months seem to drag and then whoosh it’s gone and you’ve got a screamin’ baby in your arms!
(stay in for at least another month Caitlin)

I totally under what I’m doing wrong! I was doing using ML but I was only doing 2 incs.

And thanks you two!

The due date is june 9th or the 10th and my birthday is on the 11th!

you’re welcome, I’m so excited! I know you have a little boy (right) do you want another boy or a girl? Healthy of course, but just curious if you had a preference?

jberry-
you have got to see this pic!!! I thought of you instantly

rorygilmore…wooohooo!!! congrats ladies…we seem to have the need for some baby socks here

:woot:Congrats Rory!!! :woot: That is wonderful!!!

Knittynewbie~ that site has some CUTE Socks!!!

Guess what I started today :teehee:

Whoa ! dustinac !
Impressive and very timely for the spook month !

I was going to suggest (the other day) that you add a cable down each side and go ahead and knit these socks!:notworthy:

knitnewbie: those are sooooo cute, I’d seen those in that book-checked it out from the library last year around Christmas time. wonder if my lys has angora? probably.
Bought (Grandma bought) the yarn for my afghan today-Michaels had their woolease at 2 for $5.00 so I got 13 skeins to make the afghan-had to combine 3 dyelots-ugh, but I think it will be ok since I have to hold 2 strands throughout. Now I really don’t want to knit Mom’s scarf.
Called knitpicks today to check on my exchange so I can finish my sisters second sock (hasn’t even been cast on yet) and they said it should be shipped with in the next day or so. Hopefully it will arrive this weekend when we go home.

I want a girl, we do have a almost 3 yr old boy.

At first, I could feel the lotion in it, but now I guess I’m used to it, so I don’t notice it so much.

By the way, nice skull sock!

Congratulations, Rory!! :woohoo:

Calling RoryGilmore,…CALLING RORYGILMORE !

Help me on my JayWalker , please:pray: !

The ribbing I was adding between the zigzags didn’t work out, so I’m trying the original pattern. What’s confusing me is that she gives numbers to make the sock bigger, as if that’s what everyone has trouble with. Well, I cast on 76, and it seems to me that the sock is going to stand out from my leg a little bit, it’s so loose ! My question is,… is this just because I haven’t gone far enough for the bias to draw the sock in small? I’ve done the 10 rounds for ribbing, and another 10 rounds in pattern (5 plain knit, and 5 zig-zag). I’m thinking of frogging, and making it 68 stitches; then I’d be knitting 6 between the increase and decrease, instead of 7. But, I’d hate to do that and find that it won’t go over my ankle once it gets some length to it !
What do you think…lay it on me, girl !
