Any Sock KAL

:teehee: I never even noticed that… had to edit that one and the one on OT… I posted photos of our snow there

I love the Gloss yarn… it’s very nice to knit with… I’ve used it on 3 pairs of socks now :teehee:

 Good Mornin Ya’ll,
Well, hmmm, I think that dustina will concur, kp’s gloss is great for sox. It’s nice and soft and has a lovely glow that comes from the silk in it. I love it and hubby agrees (I made his sox from it). I used size '0’s for his. O yeah, and they don’t itch!! (bonus ):knitting:
Sorry dustina, couldn’t help myself:aww: .

:teehee: I just wish they had more colors!!

Hereis a photo my son took of the candy canes not upside down (it’s in flickr):happydance:

ok Fibrenut and Dustina~ I’ll be buying some of that gloss with Christmas $ (hope I get some).

I have a question about the Gloss yarn - can you put the socks in the washing machine? My dh asked for alpaca socks but every (even for Gloss) care description says Care: Hand Wash/Dry Flat
Thanks so much!
anne

Hi Stonington, yeah they have to be hand washed cause the wool isn’t superwash…their Risata, Essential tweed, Essential, and Felici can be machine washed…:happydance:

Hi everyone! Happy knitting! I got off work early today, so I have a few minutes before my first tutoring student comes.

FibreNut,
Thanks for the sweater help! Now to figure out how far I have to frog back and DO it. Ugh! At least I know what to do now!

Stil praying for you and Mike, Dotty!

Anybody seen theseyet? A high school student designed them.

Yeah, those are cool. I didn’t realize she was a high school student until you mentioned it! I need to pick up some variegated yarn to get this project started!

Hi All,
Flickr and photobucket doesnt seem working yesterday and today, anyone has problem uploading pics ??

Wanda to post pic of KP order.
I m in the mid of knitting the pinkie now, cant get it right, it is not as easy as knitting the thumb wherby the thumb is of a bigger scale no. of stitches.

May i know which # of needle shall i work across 6 sts, put all other sts on scrap yarn or st holders except for last 6 sts ? CO 2sts across gap, then join and work across last 6, M1. Can anyone advise me, tks.

I have tried using scrap yarn but the end of couple sts seem to disappear on the scrap yarn so no choice but to place them on st holder hence there are bigger hole on each end.
Dustina - There is no way i would be in that thick snow…i love it.

those are so pretty julie. someday!

WHAT’S THIS? Our dustina is a moderator ! ? ! Wow…congrats, girl…by the way my daughter brought me my mail today, complete with your lovely note that my family much appreciated and oohed and ahhed over …me having such wonderful knitting/internet friends ! Thank you so much for thinking of us !

You, too, Jackie, I received my birthday gift, and it couldn’t be better timing with me carrying around a pocket full of change for the hospital vending machines…you must be psychic ! I had a time talking my granddaughter out of keeping it for HER birthday, which we share, but I managed to convince her that the beautiful bag that it came in was a better purse for her right now…I love my change purse, and it was so very thoughtful of you !
I’ll post pictures for you guys when I can get home and settle down.

Hello, my Julie girl…I saw the new baby picture and commented on your blog…so beautiful, that family of yours, and so lucky to have YOU !
I am taking care of myself finally, now that Mike is doing so much better…I don’t feel the need to jump up every time his mattress squeaks ! I crashed a couple of nights ago and slept from 7 that night to 7 the next morning with only a couple of wake-ups. He’s been moved to rehab, and I have a hide-a-bed in the room…mornings start at 5:30 in rehab, so we’re adjusting to being morning people…he’s beat and sound asleep from his first day’s workout, but everyone thinks he’s going to do very well…privately, I worry that he won’t recover his right hand, so I’m glad that I was never able to sell any of his spoons. I know he fears he won’t carve them again or ride a bike with me. But God is doing the steering now, and wakes me with new miracles everyday !

My daughter and family got moved into my house yesterday after wearing the other grandparents to exhaustion. So today I was able to get her to bring me some more yarn…WOO HOO ! Can work on my beret, now. I knitted one little grey sock, but may give it to the nurses for the tree here.

Someday, when I’m home again, I’m going to have a lot of pages to go back and read…I’ve just skimmed over the last 3 just now. Hey, fibrenut , GJ, Jeanius, …RoryGilmore/Alex, how are you feeling? So many of you…my friends !..love to you all and I’ll be back when I can ! I love how productive you are…makes me feel so involved !:muah:

HI Dotty, u r writing, we miss u and very happy that Mike is doing fine, pls do not worry about his right hand condition, i believe with regular exercise it will improve slowly…and u two will be riding a bike together again…

:knitting: Well, I got Zach’s sox done now on to pair number 13. I found this lovely lace sock pattern called “eagle’s flight” HERE . But I love knitting from the toe up that I adapted the pattern . So instead of the “wings” going down they will go up. I am also browsing for the next lace to incorporate into a sock and I think that I might use the “hedera” lace pattern for that one. Who knows between now n then I might find something else that tickles my fancy.:x: And that lovely “Auife” pattern for that shrug on knitty?? OMG, THAT is one lovely pattern. Can’t afford cashmere but heck I bet it would look equally good in alpace doncha think?
Dotty, I am so glad to hear that your hubbiness is coming along very well. With a little therapy and encouragement from you, he should recover. It just takes time for the nerves to repair themselves and get back “online” as it were. Right now they are just “rebooting”.

Dustinac, your candy cane socks look absolutely great! I can really see candy canes!

Good Morning Socksters!! :blooby:

GJ~I’m glad fibrenut was able to help ya… I hope you don’t have to rip out to much!!

Julie~ I liked a lot of the knitty’s patterns this time…that one is great :happydance:

Jackie~Which pattern are you doing? is it a glove? I haven’t done a full glove yet… I want to :teehee:

fibrenut~ohh I forgot about the eagle socks… I printed that pattern out so long ago… :happydance:

Thanks Lieke!! I hope mom will like them :happydance:

Dotty~Thank you for letting us know how Mike is doing…continued prayers for you both…Take one day at a time and know that God holds you both…Prayers for you and your family!!

The kids went outside for a bit yesterday…My son didn’t stay to long but my little girl made some snow angels…she loves the snow…JD tried to go back to work but had to turn back around… wrecks here and there…he stopped to check on one car that had went up in some trees… waiting for him to call me this morning that he made it safe and sound… I can’t enjoy the snow for worry (he has a long drive to work so I can live in the woods)

I worked on Roo’s coat set… sooooo boring!!! Knit, purl, knit, purl… it’s like the 3 way wrap lol yawn city… Going to start mom’s socks soon the snowflake ones :happydance: …I only ordered one blue… not sure how/why I did that so now I have to wait for the other blue…well I could start one sock but ya know :teehee:

Hope you guys have a great day of knitting!! :happydance:

good morning, Dustina.
I m knitting the tipless gloves from Holiday Knits.
I m stuck with the pinkie part. I cant show any pic cos the photobucket doesnt seem to be working.

Work across 6 st, put all other st on scrap yarn or st holder except the last 6 st. CO 2st across the gap, then join and work across last 6 sts.
I do not know how or where to work across the 6 sts ? After the thumb part, does it has to start with the Pinkie (Little finger) first ? Can i start with the First finger first ?
Tks for your help.

:nails: My post went bye-bye…

ohh I knew that…I’m sorry about that Jackie!!

Yeah I would start with the index finger and go across that way… the only other way I could think of was to knit across till you reach the pinkie sts…but I think it would be easier to just start with the index

So good to hear from you Dotty!!! Glad Mike is in rehab & before you know it y’all will be home and things will be going great! I agree with fibrenut that you just have to wait for his nerves to ‘reboot’ and they will work just fine again. The brain is really cool-because when a part of it doesn’t work then the rest of it works together to create the part that’s missing. Just give it time and he’ll be back to normal!

Hopefully I can get the quiz done for school today & a second draft done on my final 2 essays & then onto dh’s socks!
happy knitting everyone!

Hi all! I’ve been absent this last week, just haven’t been feeling well, and also busy with holiday knitting. I have 1.5 more scarves to go. yay. I’m just not into them anymore. I’ve finished 2, same pattern, so its all mindless. I should just buckle down and do.

Jackie - I read a while back that you asked about my dad knitting. He’s been knitting since he was a kid. He had scarlet fever as a kid and had to spend alot of time at home as a result. He was driving grandma crazy, lol…1st grader…so she taught him to knit. He owned a yarn store at one point in his life. He just retired and is now making designer scarves/shawls to supplement his play money, hehe. We talk about yarn and knitting all the time, hehe. Its fun

dotty - sooo glad hubby is in recovery/rehab. Trust the doctors about how he is doing, and trust in the Lord that he is in control. to you and your family

dustina - gratz on the mod thing!! You will make a great one! Love the candy cane socks!!! Also loved your trees!

fibrenut - I love that eagle sock pattern! I’m impressed that you are converting it to toe up!!

jberry - I  your new table!! we sooooo need a new one. And your little ones are so precious! Love the pics :happydance:

Soooooo we are having a tight christmas this year. I don’t mind it at all, to me it makes it more meaningful. But, my sweet dh said I could order some yarn. I’m contemplating KP sock sampler in the neutral colors. What are your opinions on these sock yarns? Do they hold up well? How do they feel on the feet? Is it a good buy? Also, he wants me to get something else to get the free shipping, so I was considering getting some fixed options or harmony (leaning toward options due to sturdiness) for either 2 circ method or magic loop. Which sizes/lengths would you get? Or…would you go with a totally different company for yarn if you were me and had $50.00 to spend?

Thanks so much for your help!
