Dotty: I’m so glad to hear that he’s doing well. I’m sure having the grandkids there will help speed his recovery-kids have a way of doing that. You said you don’t drive, why not?
Dustina: those are so cute, love the candy canes. I was expecting more colorwork, but I like those. Do they stay up on your calf?
I have been concentrating on school the last couple days, no knitting in a while, but school will be over 12-12! Then I can knit! Christmas is almost done, just have to get my brother a gift card to autozone and I’m done-o and I still have to stuff the kids hedgehogs. Took ms. Caitlin to the doc today for her 2 week check up and she’s now 6# 9oz! what a little piggie! She’d weigh more if she wouldn’t spit up…silly girl
Julie~ I think color work candy cane socks would be very cute…hrmmm wonder if I could chart that out or something… Yeah they do I was worried about that cause they look huge not on… but so far the one is staying up with no problems… :happydance: YAY!!Caitlin is doing great!!
Y’all remember me telling you about my neighbor who ordered from KP and didn’t get it with in the 14 days so she called and they resent her order free of charge, that resend was 7 days ago, the initial order was a month ago and still no yarn. I feel bad for her b/c it’s never taken more than 9 days to get it to me. Anyone else had problems like this?
my dad has had problems with his orders sometimes. But, he doesn’t live in the best neighborhood, and I think they have problems with theft. I personally haven’t had problems getting my orders from them. And I think that she should check with KP make sure they have the correct address. Check also with the postal service, they might be able to tell you something. Once dad didn’t get his package, and the postman had ended up putting it on his back porch. Well dad never goes back there, lol. If KP has the right address, and the postman doesn’t have any record of a delivery to her address, I’d call KP up and let them know that either they need to get her yarn to her in the next 3 working days, or they have lost a customer. Does she have problems with othermail being delivered?? That is so horrible, when you expect something and it doesn’t arrive.
Dotty - So sorry to hear about Mike, but I’m glad to know he’s doing better.
I know I mentioned for the QOTD the other day that I had a fav sock book but couldn’t remember what it was. Well, I found it today.
Socks Socks Socks Is the name of it. It’s pretty advanced for my rudimentary sock skills, but I can’t wait to get to try some of them once I get it out of storage.
For Goodness sake! I hate when I miss stuff!!!
DOTTY: Instant prayers for your dear hubby and you my sweet friend, you sure have had your share of stuff lately haven’t you? Just know that we are an email or a post away and we you!!!
My little brother is in very poor health so when we go to PA in 2 weeks, we wanna spend some time with him. He is having dizzy spells, and numb areas and they think he is having mini spells or he has a brain tumor so they are running lots of tests. :pout:
Aside from all that…I threw the Jaywalkers to the old frog pond they have no stretch at all, and I knew they would never fit me or anyone else I know…haha…but I cast on a new one from thispattern, and it’s going well so far…when I get a picture’s worth done, I’ll post it.
I had to take my kiddo to the doc today for an infected sty on his bottom eyelid. I have to put warm soaks on it and some ointment they called in. My 3 year old is 42" tall and 39.7 lbs. ugh…where does it go?
I’m about ready to frog this sock. I started on the foot part today, using SIlver’s toe up on 2 circs tut. The left cable looks great, the right looks like doogie poo. I’m only a few rows into the cable, so I don’t know if I should let it be or start all over. I don’t know how to tink back that far on circs. Either way, I set it down for the night, it’s just too frustrating, especially when one has a cold.
dotty~Thinking of you, Mike, and your family today
Julie~I’ve never had that much trouble with a KP order… I’m surprised they didn’t do a fast deliver on her 2nd pkg… can she check the track #? I usually can see when the pkg has made it to Coshocton and know I’ll get it the next day…hope she gets it soon
Jackie~Very cute little girl hiding behind those very cute mittens!! Great job :happydance: …It’s knit pick’s gloss in Sage
Lieke~Thank you :happydance:
Christina~I’m sorry to read about your brother and will keep you all in my prayers… I hope your son feels better soon…I’m allergic to a lot of eye make up and it’s pretty much trial and error to which brand…so I always have stys…they hurt like crazy… I can’t wait to see the socks :blooby:
Jenny~If your not happy with it then I’d frog back and try again… It might work out though after you go a bit further…can you post a photo so we can see?
Well I need to CO to the other sock today sometime… I have a huge box setting in my living room right now…so I need to get the tree up and make sure the lights work before tonight… I also need to finish the outside lights…but I wanna knit :teehee:
I really want to make thispattern that dotty posted earlier (the gloves/fingerless mitts)…but I have no LYS close to me that sells the types of yarns it would take… I browsed online last night it’s hard to pick 2 colors through a computer monitor…Also I got some Christmas money and I wanted to know what sock yarns do you guys enjoy knitting with? I’d like to try some new ones… I’ve tried Lorna’s Laces and I have some Koigu and I got some Dream in Color yesterday woohooo… so what else should I try?? :happydance:
My little girl is sick:pout: …her b-day is tomorrow…last year she was sick for her b-day and didn’t even care to open gifts or anything…she woke up feeling ok this morning and we went out for more lights…she got sick in the store and is now on the couch with movies, water, and a trash can beside her… I Hope it’s just a 24 hr bug and tomorrow she will be well again…poor thing…she was looking forward to putting up the tree too…we might wait cause she missed putting it up last year too…sorry a mom just rambling it all out :oo:
Dustina,
I have ordered a lot from TLE lately and here are a few that are yummy…Numma Numma is soft and has nice colors…Shuibu is really soft, and has a really “sproingy” feel to it. Thank Ewe over at Etsy has their Christmas colorways out now, and they are cheap and lovely too!!! Let us know what ya decide on…I love ALL sock yarn…cheap or expensive…hehe (one of my faves is Felici from KP)
Jackie: school is going, slow but going. Wish I could work ahead and be done, but that’s not possible. Kids are doing good & the knitting hasn’t been touched.
1to1: what color way is that tofutsies?
Christina: I’m gonna have to try some of that yarn with some Christmas $. I’m interested in the ‘squishy’ one.
We got a new dining room table today-I’m so excited, you’ll have to read my blog post today! There’s pics on there too.
Happy knitting. Dh is supposed to take the older two kids and give me some much needed ‘time’ so maybe I’ll knit today-then again maybe I’ll head to Grandma’s house and stuff their hedgehogs. Just have to see what kind of mood I’m in and how Grandma’s doing. She had her eyelids operated on Thurs. and has to keep iceing them for 48 hours. I saw her Thurs night and she looked terrible! We took pictures, but don’t want to share online-it’d scare y’all. I didn’t let the kids go into her house b/c I didn’t want them to be scared. Not sure that she’ll even let me have a copy, she likes to keep those to herself. Ok guess that’s all, talk to y’all later.
Ok no it’s not, I lied, my neighbor wrote kp customer service a letter and emailed it to them last night and is waiting for a responce. And wouldn’t you know after I posted this I got an email from her that she got her order today (the second one).
I hope Mike continues to respond well, dotty! Sounds like things have been going well so far. I’m keeping you in my thoughts
Hope your daughter feels better, dustinac! It’s crappy being sick on your birthday - and I remember several Christmases sick as a kid. Bleh. If it’s any consolation, we’ve been battling those nasty stomach bugs lately - my dd this week, and my ds and younger dd a few weeks ago. Ds was terrible with it, but my youngest … this makes me feel like such a terrible mom … actually threw up sometime during the night and we didn’t discover this until the next morning, when she was happily sitting and singing, vomit-covered, in her crib. I felt terrible, and I did hear some coughing, but no crying! and checked on my son, who I assumed was the sick one. Oh well, that just shows what an easy child she is!
Great looking sock, Sig!
And a question - do you all think Jaywalker is an easy knit - pretty fast? I’m trying to get them done by Christmas for my mom, and I just am hoping they’ll go fast. I did my last pair of just regular ribbing in a few days, so that’s a gauge. Or is there some other fairly mindless, but nice looking pattern you all like?
