Any beginning knitters in Dallas?

Let’s do that! I’m sorry about your dad. You know, we’re all terminal, I like to say. Which helps me remember to appreciate every moment (and every knitting stitch :teehee: because we never know when it will be our last). My prayers go out to you during this difficult time. I’ve been there.

My husband grew up in Deer Park area. Went to LaPorte High School (graduated '74)…he’s much, MUCH older than I :teehee: (well, just one “much”)

I started kindergarten in 1974! I think he’s a little older than me, too. :teehee:

Anyone ready for another meetup?

Last time we talked about visiting some LYS. I’ve been wanting an excuse to head up to Plano to visit the Woolie Ewe (and lack of yarn is not an available excuse at the moment…), so I was thinking maybe we could meet there this Sat. March 17, at 3:30, and then head over to the Starbucks around the corner? Info below. Alternate time/location suggestions welcome.

The Woolie Ewe (green flag on map)

Hey Markette! I am sooooo there! I’m actually heading over to the Woolie Ewe in a few minutes - I have a new project that I’m dying to start and can’t wait to get more yarn!!! :happydance: :happydance:

:cheering:

Hey, since you’re going anyway… mind doing the drive-by to see if it’s a “good Starbucks”? From the Google map it looks like the same kind of stand-alone Starbucks we met in before.

No problem! I’m on a mission for yarn and Starbucks stalking! :teehee: :teehee:

Mission accomplished!!

The Starbucks isn’t a stand-alone, but it has a lot of room.

Woolie Ewe was wonderful! I got 2 balls of 100% Bamboo yarn. I        it!!!

Can’t wait to go back on Sat. . . I’ll have more spending money! :teehee:

Unfortunately, I will be unable to go to this meet-up! I will be flying to Europe that day.

Thanks for checking that out, JJ!

We’ll miss you, Dovey :pout: but have fun on your trip! And bring back pictures!

Dovey - Have a great time in Europe! Can’t wait to hear all about it.

Markette - I don’t know if I can wait until Saturday!!! :teehee:

Okay - Markette, kayakgirl, and Dovey -

I think we need another knitting day! Any ideas when?

:??

So, did you gals meet up at Woolie Ewe on St.Patrick’s day? Nosy…uh…I mean inquiring minds want to know. :teehee:

We sure did and it was awesome! That is the BEST LYS!!!

I live a hundres or so miles away from Dallas, but whenever dh and I have to make a trip over there, I always finagle a trip to the Woolie Ewe. It’s actually the only yarn shop I’ve ever visited, as we don’t have one in our town (though we do have a craft store which carries a few nice yarns).

I love the bargain room in Woolie Ewe. I always come home with a bagful of marked down yarns. :happydance:

You know I’m always up for it. Next weekend would be fine for me, but it is Easter, so that might be a problem for some. Should we do it the weekend after?

Do we want to hit another LYS, or just head to a Starbucks?

I would love to get together again. I already have plans for the next two Sundays but if Sunday works well for everyone else I will try to make it to the next one.

Have a great day.

There’s a Stitch n Bitch this weekend. I always mean to go, but never have. Should we crash it, and then organize our smaller group meetup at a later date when more of us can make it?

Stitch-n-Bitch is this Sunday, April. 8th from 2:30-5:30pm at Cafe
Express on McKinney Ave in Dallas (Uptown area)!

Below is the address/phone number; I’ve also included directions
from I-75 and Lemmon Ave. for those who don’t do mapquest.

That sounds awesome! :cheering: :cheering: I’m in!!!

Markette - I want to start socks using magic loop but am having a little trouble. Could I get a little help from you on Sunday? :wall:

Awesome – It’ll be much easier for me to psych myself into going if I know someone there already. Large groups of people I don’t know make me nervous.

And of course I’d be happy to help with your socks!

:cheering: Yeah!

I’ll see you there!
