Anthropologie Inspired Capelet

Hello all, I haven’t been posting for a while because I have been very busy teaching school - but I love knitting!! I have finished my first ever garment beyond a hat or scarf! I chose the Anthropologie Inspired Capelet pattern found at

I was unable to get the Rowan Polar, but I substituted 3 balls of Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk, colour 25015. I found that although the DB Alpac-Silk label called for size 8 needles, that my yarn seemed a little bulkier from the loft of the alpaca. I knit it on the size 11 bamboo circular needles and my gauge turned out to be the same as for the Polar. As it is meant to be thrown on overtop of a turtleneck or camisole in spring, I thought the gauge would be appropriate. Anyway - I’m happy with how it turned out.

I knit this for my sister who now has it in her possession and loves it! I am thinking that I am going to have to knit another one for myself now.

That looks just YUMMY :inlove: :inlove: I want to make that one day when I build up my courage.

:muah:

That is so sweet! Great job!

These are all so cute…I gotta knit one somday.

Just gorgeous and I love the grape color.

Beautiful!! I’m in love with that color!!!

WOW! that looks great :notworthy: dontcha almost want to keep that gorgeous thing for yourself though??? at least try it on and take a pic??

Very pretty! I  the color.

I love the color! The alpaca/silk has a really nice drapey quaility that you would not get from the Rowan Polar.

Its so pretty! I love that pin you put on it :inlove:

I just love this pattern. I have made a couple, and some other knitters here have made several versions of it. It is just so cute. I love your yarn!

Hi everybody, Thanks for all the kind words about my project. I would highly recommend this as a first garment. I learned how to yarn over and got practice at counting and pattern reading. It was also a quick project. It would’ve been even quicker if I had had a better handle on the yarn over move.

Mulderknitter - it would have been tempting to keep it, but lucky for my sister we are different sizes! I was afraid to try it on since I might’ve stretched it out. But I see one of these in my future. Right now I am rewarding myself by making a Noro Kochoran vest of my very own. Pictures coming soon!

That’s gorgeous! I definitely want to try that too!
