I made the puppy woobie, pattern by Kris Carlson, last year for a co-worker’s baby boy. This year, I made the Bunny Woobie for the same co-worker’s baby girl. Both times, I had a hard time preventing the stitches from twisting when joining in the round. This time, I placed the needles on a pillow with the provisional cast-on stitches on the inside of the circle before joining. That seemed to help.
That’s soooo cute!
I know she’ll love it!

That’s really sweet. Thanks for the tip on not twisting when joining in the round. I had no problem for a long time, now I seem to twist them every time. :gah:
Absolutely adorable!
That came out so cute!!
What an adorable bunny! That’ll be a much loved favorite, I’m sure. You knit this so well and you’re tip about laying out the knitting on a flat surface to avoid the mobius twist is a good one.
That is so cute.
AWWW…what a cute bunny!
It is just adorable. They will love it.
That is absolutely fantastic! Bet the little girl loved it.
That is just too cute!!
Aw gosh, that is just too darn cute for words! What a great piece of true ART! Way to go!
very cute not sure what they are used for though. Is it like a play mat/blanket?
They are the lovey or blankie that a child often drags around with them. You can buy them in stores now (I’ve seen them at Target), but these are cuter. ![]()
Adorable.! I need to learn how to do a provisionaL cast on.; but, I haven’t found a video or instructions that make sense to me. Do you know of one? I’ve actually not started a project or 10 because I haven’t been able to figure it out
I like the crochet cast on. There’s a video here in the cast on section. Here’s another one with photos if that helps.

I’ve started using Judy’s Magic Cast On for provisional cast ons. I just move the unused stitches to a holder (extra cable or waste yarn) and they’re ready and waiting for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pmxRDZ-cwo I learned to do it for toe up socks, then discovered it’s great for any provisional cast on.
You’re right. I forgot about that. I prefer the turkish cast on and I used it for a project recently instead of crochet cast on.
I haven’t been able to get the hang of using the Turkish cast on. I guess once we find something that works for us, the motivation to learn something new goes down. Maybe that’s why I haven’t kept trying. With either cast on, there are no crochet stitches to mess around with and then pick out.
Great minds.
I think TECHknitter said she just knits some extra rows at the start then cuts the yarn and ravels it out to leave live stitches she can put on a needle. I’m not certain it was TECHknitter, but I did read about it.
Love the cute smile on the bunny face… how sweet!
