Another Swallowtail

Here is yet another Swallowtail that I just finished. This one is for me. I wanted a black and white scarf for this winter, so I returned to my “go to” shawlette pattern. I’ve made it enough times that it moves along pretty quickly, but there are enough changes in the pattern to keep it interesting. The yarn is Zauberball 1508 (black, white, gray). I’ve never used Zauberball before, but I like it. It’s softer than the Kauni. The colors are nicer, IMO, than the Knitpicks’ Chroma. I used glass seed beads (black and dark gray) in lieu of the nupps. The recommended needle size for the yarn is 2-3 mm. I used 4.0 mm to open up the lace, but that was probably pushing it. The wingspan is about 52" after blocking, so I’m happy with the end result. I used about 75 gms of the 100 gm ball.

I’m speechless. Gorgeous.

Very beautiful!

What a beautiful combination of pattern and yarn! The colors work so perfectly with this shawl. Enjoy wearing it.

I’ve made that pattern before and was beyond happy to bind off. I cannot imagine making it more than once!

You did an excellent job with the color choice.

Wow that’s beautiful! Love how the colours turned out, almost looks like you were using three balls of separate colours. I’ve heard good things about Zauberball too.
