Pattern says:
BO 108 sts at beg on next row. Dec1 st at beg of next 2 RS rows…111 sts. Continuing in Roman St and maintaining Seed st on lower back portion only, work even until piece mearsures 3 1/2" from beg on neck shaping.
If I Dec 1 st at beg of next 2 Rs rows I will be decreasing in the 5 st seed st border, won’t that mess up the pattern? It just doesn’t make any sense to me
You had been working with a 5 st seed st border on each end, but when you bind off the 108 stitches you will be doing that at the beginning of a right side row, that gets rid of the 5 stitch border on that one end. You continue putting the seed st border at the far end, but want to decrease just 1 st at the beginning of the right side rows 2 times. That will put the decreases at the same end where you did the BO and there will not be any seed stitch on that end anymore to be concerned about. Does that make sense? This will be right at the bottom of that long lazy “U” you have on the schematic, to round it off a bit.

thank you…DUH! For some reason I didn’t see or calculate in my little mind that the pattern said decrease on RS only! thanks so much! You know even looking at the schematic this doesn’t make sense to me…the schematic makes sense as I look at it, but my knitting still doesn’t look like it…but I am pretty sure it is right
