My close friend recently purchased some unmarked yarn at a sweet price and she asked for my assistance with finding out exactly how much she has.

She got about 15 WPI and the total amount of yarn weighs just over 2 pounds using a bathroom scale. I know there are references out there but I don’t have them bookmarked.

How many yards does she have to work with?

Sounds like a Sport or DK weight yarn… The weight could go up or down depending on what it’s made out of… Like 2 pounds of something like chenille might be alot less in yardage than something like 2pounds of a light cotton… But an add on ebay claims 2pounds of Sport weight chenille is 4000yards…
