Another first pair of socks post :)

Hi all,

I decided I’d like to knit my grandmother some socks/slippers for Christmas, so I tried out Silver’s sock class as practice. That tutorial is excellent - I think my socks turned out just right! This could easily turn into a new obsession for me.

Pattern - Silver’s sock class, although I did a lot less 2x2 ribbing than recommended because this was just going to be for practice. I used the numbers recommended for worsted weight yarn when I made the sock.

Yarn - I used some Caron Simply Soft in Mango that I had lying around, and knit these on size [U]4[/U] needles, so I’m surprised they fit, but they do. I must be a ridiculously loose knitter. Acrylic is definitely not the best type of yarn to do this with, but it worked for my first pair.

Thanks everyone - I wasn’t really expecting to like them much, but now that they’re done I think they’re very cheerful. :slight_smile:
