I would like to make a pair of ankle socks. Nothing fancy or anything. Does anyone know of any good sites to get patterns? All I can find are socks that go up to the knees almost. 
Of course I wear a size 6 shoe so it would make them “taller” for me.

I wear them all the time and love them. It taught me a new way to do short rows too.
You can make just about any sock pattern into an ankle sock by cutting out the stitches for the leg. After you make your first pair of ankle socks you should definitely try this! It is fun to move a little bit out of the comfort zone of the pattern. Until then… this Sockulator is great. You just pop in a few values and it customizes the sock for you.
