And another, Vogue Stitchionary vs. 365 Knitting Stitches

Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Volume One: Knit & Purl : The Ultimate Stitch Dictionary from the Editors of Vogue Knitting Magazine

365 Knitting Stitches a Year Perpetual Calendar

Compare and contrast, anyone please who has perused them both.

I’m guessing you’d want to buy these new instead of used in case of updates and error corrections?

I only have the calendar and I like it and haven’t had a problem with it. I don’t see why you couldn’t buy a used copy of it - I’m not aware of any corrections (tho there may be some). I have to admit, when I go perusing, I look at the calendar last, but it has been useful and I have definitely used it. It just doesn’t always come to mind first when searching.

I glanced at the Vogue book (I don’t believe you can have too many stitch pattern books). It looked pretty, but you would definitely have to like green as all the swatches are done in green. Vogue magazine is notorious for errata - I don’t know if the same is true for their books. I’m holding off buying it because I’m collecting these instead (I’ve got the first one):

The obvious benefic to the Perpetual Calendar is that it is somewhat portable.

I only have the calendar… I would gladly trade it for Vogue’s stitchionary sight unseen. Lots of the stitches in the calendar I know already, or have in other books.

I just saw the first in those series of Barbara Walker books at my library, Carol. Good to know about them!
