Am I Addicted to Knitting?

I love to knit in the car when hubby’s driving. Last night we had to drop off one of our cars at a garage, so I had to follow him there. I must be addicted because I was unhappy at having to be IN the car and not knitting  I actually wondered if there was a way I could do both :roflhard:

I think I’m officially ADDICTED!

When we have to drive for a long period (over 1/2 an hour) I have the DH drive so I can knit. He just knows he has to drive now! I also knit in the movie theatre because I am just sitting there afterall!

It is a FABULOUS thing to be addicted to!!!

Movie theatre! Great idea! I haven’t been to a movie in years but now I have a reason to go! KNITTING TIME!!! :teehee:

I don’t knit in the car any more because I do all the driving but yah I think you probably are. Here are some simple questions to determine knitting addiction.

Do you knit when ever possible?
Do you think about knitting more than 50 times a day?
When you see an attractive man or woman do you find yourself looking at their sweater instead of them trying to figure out the pattern and fiber?
Do you have 1 or more knitting dreams in a night?
Are you willing to give up cooking, cleaning, eating and sleeping if it means more time for knitting?
When you go on vacation do you book your hotel by it’s location to the LYS?
Do you dream of rolling naked in your favorite yarn?
Do you order from KP at least twice a month?
Do you find yourself sneaking out to the LYS and then hiding your purchase?

If you’ve answered yes to 2 or more of these questions then you probably are addicted.

I’m sure there are other ways of telling addiction but these are the ones that have happened to me.

If you are, so am I! It has gotten to the point that if I am standing in line, I’m ticked off because I’m not knitting. And if I have my knitting with me and it’s a long line (and I don’t have a shopping cart or luggage to tend to), I DO knit in line!

Good idea! I wonder where ELSE I could be knitting that I haven’t thought of? In the bathtub? Maybe. LOL!

Between my iPod (I listen to that any time I am not at home or even AT home) and my knitting it’s like total sensory deprivation…I don’t have to see or talk to anyone else. :roflhard:

Guilty as charged!! :happydance:

Oh, and here’s an interesting article. If you just swap out “internet” for “knitting”…

LOL. Definitely more than 2! I’m going to try my first fair isle today and I can’t wait!

One more thing…You might be addicted to knitting if…you make sure your email account downloads your forum posting alerts BEFORE your husband’s messages. :roflhard:

Well, at least it isn’t porn.

DITTO!!! And if it’s not too cold I will knit while walking down the street.

I knit on all my breaks at school. Whenever I have prep, I knit. Sometimes I grade papers during class, just so I can knit during my prep!

:teehee:

At least its not Porn~ Mason~??
HOW do you explain all this yarn PORN popping up all over here?

HMMmmmmmm? :teehee: :teehee: :teehee:

did you ever stop and realize there are exactly the same number of letters in YARN as there is in PORN???~~

Thought for the day:
Ainee :teehee: :teehee:

I do all the driving
so I cannot knit WHILE driving
but I keep more than one knitting project with me at all times
that way when I get out of the car i can choose which or how many) projects to tkae with me to match the attention I need to keep where-ever I happen to need to be
my to-be-felted bag is straight knitting, round and round, with only simple / predictable stitch changes, so i can do that anywhere
my reverse/double knitting takes a LOT of thought but I can split my attention most of the time

ecb

I always take mine along as well. I actually look FORWARD to getting stopped in traffic by a train :teehee: it gives me time to do a couple extra rows of knitting!

There are much worse things out there that one can be addicted too. I admit, I’m not so addicted that I carry it everywhere, but there are times that I just can’t wait to get home and work on my current
project(s). :teehee:

Here’s one more…you know you’re addicted if you wish you were pregnant so you could wear this adorable thing! :roflhard:

I’m totally addicted - I take a project EVERYWHERE, even if it’s just a dishcloth or something small. I usually knit during lunch at work. I mean, it takes 15 mins to eat; what else am I going to do to take up an hour??? :??

Here’s one more :teehee:

You know you’re addicted if…you look at your knittinghelp.com posting emails BEFORE the “terrorism alert” email.
:roflhard:
