alternate cable cast on question

I am starting a bottom up sweater, knit in the round and casting on 208 stitches for the 1x1 rib using the alternate cable cast on. My question is this: in all the you tube videos, the tutorials state that if one is knitting an even number of stitches, you should end with a knit stitch (as opposed to a purl stitch). My question is this: if you start with a knit stitch (which is what they all show) then any even number of stitches ends with a purl stitch, not a knit stitch. As usual, I have gotten myself in a tizzy about this as I have cast on 104 of the 208 stitches (ending with a purl) and since it is a bit challenging, I would prefer NOT to start all over.

Thoughts?

It is only when working a 1x1 ribbing flat that you want to both begin and end with the same stitch so you get the edges similar. When working in rounds it does not matter if you begin with knit or purl. The only important thing is to have an even number of stitches. If you begin with knit, you will end with purl and that is completely correct.
