Oh God people. I just had the most awful realization of my life and I’m completely devestated right now. Our computer died last Tuesday - HD crashed. Nope, no backups, I lost everything except my pictures. For some reason I had the sense to have my DH backup all our pictures last winter. But nothing else. We lost it all. I got past it and accepted our fate due to our error in not backing it all up. Lesson learned. And an expensive one at that.
BUT!!! I’m sitting her at our newly fixed computer and I go to my favorites in my knitting section and THERE’S NOTHING THERE!!! I feel like I’ve been kicked in the stomache. What am I going to do?? I had soooooo much stuff in there, links for weird situations that rarely happen but if they did I’d have a help page to refer to. How am I ever going to get them back??
Dear Lord, I realize I’m being a bit overdramatic, but just stop and think, what if I came to all of your homes and deleted everything in your knitting favorites page. Yeah, you’d pretty much have me hung for that wouldn’t you? :teehee:
Ugh, I’m so upset right now. I can’t even explain how defeated I feel. I know, I know, I’ll get over it, but I’m going to need some time here. And all of the links you all have on your favorites pages, start sending them to me!! Pronto!

Look at it as a way to get your bookmarks organized as you accumulate new ones. Do you want us to share a few of our favorite links? Maybe they were yours, too.
OH - I am sooo sorry ! The hubby and I got an external hard drive and not too long ago I had him back-up all my pictures and links to patterns on there. He said “you want me to do what?!” but he did it…well, I think he did…maybe I’ll double check tonight…
:passedout: I am so sorry!!! I know what it’s like to lose all your bookmarks! One time I had to get a new computer and I thought all my bookmarks were backed up from my old one…But, they weren’t! Well, let me retract that, only SOME were backed up…I have no idea why the computer seemingly decided to pick and choose which ones to save and which ones to get rid of…lol…Anyway, I have a TON of knitting related bookmarks, if you’d like, I can send you the links I have.
Please oh please oh please do send me any and all knitting related bookmarks that you have. Just PM me with them all. I don’t care how many you send. Everyone will be appreciated. I will forever be indebted to you for sharing them with me. I may even add you to my life insurance policy!
I realize no one will probably read this, but I was reading last night, trying to figure out how to put into words the feeling I had when I realized all my knitting links were gone and then it hit me:
Did you ever see the ‘Friends’ episode where Monica, Chandler, Rachel and Joey are betting Monica & Rachel’s apartment? And then Ross asks the last question and Rachel gets it wrong and then Monica goes “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” It’s the [I]way[/I] she says it that is exactly how [I]I[/I] felt. :teehee: There, now I’ve explained as best I can. :teehee: I’m feeling much better now that Demonica sent me all her links, but I’m open to a million more if anyone is willing to send them.
