Breaking from my Jaywalker socks for a little bit, I cast-on the Airy Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts book that my sister gave me for xmas
Knitting on size 10 for this scarf makes the world of difference than the size 1 needles of the Jaywalker (which by the way I’m having so much fun with!) I’m already 3/4 of the way done woohoooo, the yarn is 100% mohair and cobweb weight, it feels sooooo luxurious and soft! My mom is not much of a scarf person, but she likes little short and light silk scarves. I know it’s only February, but this is for her on Mother’s day . I had this strange feeling yesterday and said to Kezza, I miss my mom. So I immediately cast-on this scarf for her, knowing she will be happy with it.
This is my first 100% mohair project and let me tell ya, it’s a challenge. Those that have knitted with 100% mohair would know how fine and delicate the yarn is, on top of that I’m knitting with HUGE needles! all the yarn wants to do is fall off the needles, oy! and I have to be super careful since you can’t frog mohair… the pattern is pretty easy so I think it will be just fine.
The yarn color is taupe/off white (if you hold it up against my cat Casper, it’s the exact same color as his belly and some of his body). I think mom will like it and happy with it, coz we all know how hard moms are to buy for! hehee
Can you beat a handknitted gift? I think not! lmao
