Airport safe?

HI Knit Friends,
Does anyone know if bamboo circular needles are allowed on international flights? I want to take my 2 circ sock project on my trip to Japan, but evidently #2 circular needles don’t come in plastic.

If anybody knows where I can get them in plastic that would be an easy solution, but I have searched the web in vain. I know metal is not allowed.

Thanks!

I haven’t heard reports of anyone recently having trouble getting any needles on a plane in the US (domestic or international flight). However there are reports of needled being confiscated in foreign airports. Not sure if there is somewhere to check on other countries restrictions. I would suggest (especially for the return flight) that you put in a lifeline on the final row before going through security. That way if they say no needles you can just pull them out without losing all of your work. If you haven’t already, you might search the forum for the several other threads on this topic.

Most of the time you will have no problems, but it’s up to each individual airport as well. I had no problems taking my Denises to Seattle.
