I made the Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Basketweave afghan for myself in cranberry and it was such a fast workup and so snuggly and soft I decided I was going to tackle making one for my nieces and nephews, This was in cream which my oldest nieces wanted. OTN is one in gray marble and the 3rd waiting is going to be in a pine green. The nephews have not picked colors yet but that’s okay, have to finish the gray and then the green. This works up so fast on large needles and of course yarn is thick. So easy to knit the the end product I think is very nice.
Wow! That afghan looks very warm and inviting (when I think of the 6 degree weather we had this past month). Great job!
I’m sure your nieces and nephews will love their handmade blankets!
WOW! Just the pattern I was looking for! Your blanket is perfect!
What a great looking afghan! Your nieces and nephews are very lucky. What about one for yourself?
Thanks! It really is a yummy afghan, stretchy to just wrap up in. Free pattern Lion Brand 90332AD. The good thing was when I found the pattern I checked Michaels and the yarn happened to be on sale. Once I got the colors they wanted, I bought them on sale every other week, so I am making them all at about half price. Now that I really like. The yarn is on sale here again buy 2 for the price of 1 so going to go get more for the nephews.:happydance:
Actually the first one I made I did keep for myself. The first thing I have made and actually kept. By the way, is your location Solomon’s Maryland? If so, I am from St. Mary’s just across the bridge.
:yay: How beautiful!
Nice to find an afghan pattern you don’t mind doing more than once. They are such a big undertaking. Looks nice and snuggly.
Very nice! I love the instant gratification of working with super bulky yarns like Thick & Quick! :yay:
Very nice! It’s SO gratifying to be able to knit something large quickly! Your neices and nephews are sure to adore their afghans!
That is exactly why I decided to do them all in this pattern. Might be boring to some but it works up so fast I can get throught them much faster than others I have made.
That’s really nice looking. It looks cushy and comfy. I may live in FL but I still appreciate a good afghan. I haven’t made one myself b/c I’m scared of something so large.
Don’t be scared. Because they are so big I get a lot of gratification when I do complete one. I make myself stick to it, even if I get board, just so I can go whew, finished!:knitting:
