This is where my happiness is fading fast. I am clearly doing something wrong. Even wrote to Woolly - who wrote the pattern and did her best to help - which I thought I understood, but didn’t. Does this mean:
a. p1,m1p,p1,m1p,p1,m1p,p1,m1p, k1tbl,k1tbl repeat
or
b. something I am not getting
My issue is - the wonderful lines in the hat have a great start for about 5 groups - and then the train goes off the track. I would appreciate any help. Video links would be great. Look forward to any help.
I think you’ve got it right. That’s how I’d interpret it. How are you doing the increases? They should be a m1 where you lift the yarn between sts and purl into it, rather than pfb, I think. Is that how the pattern defines it?
p, m, p, m, p, m, p, m, ktbl 2 times. is right assuming that the punctuation is correct.
It may be possible that there is an error in where the [I]2 times[/I] should go. How many stitches do you have on the needle, and are there 4 purls and 2 knits repeated?
Yep, you’ve interpreted the increase round correctly - you’ll be increasing one stitch for each purl stitch between the two K1tbl. So where you have 4 purl sts between the two K1tbl on the brim, after the increase round you’ll have 8 purl sts between the two K1tbl.
There are 2 things I’d check first: how are you doing the increases? The M1P is the purl version of a M1, a lifted bar increase. And what is your stitch count [I]before[/I] starting the increase round?
