I found this hat at a thrift store last week–it was really well knit, but as you can see, someone didn’t check their gauge (not that I should talk!) Anyway, I have no idea what the yarn is, but I’m pretty sure it’s something synthetic. It’s pretty soft, though, and the colors are really pretty! Here are the before and after pictures.

Anyone else have some fun recycled yarn stories?

That looks like some Caron Simply Soft that I have in my stash. All of this recycled yarn stuff makes me want to go to goodwill …

I have a POUND of cashmere from a recycled sweater; the sweater only cost me $3.50. I don’t do it often, but sometimes opening up stuff is definitely worth it.
