I’m knitting with Misty chunky alpaca. I adjusted the gauge for a super chunky pattern. What happened? I ended up with a wide sweater and the armholes are almost at my belly! should I have just stuck to the pattern and skipped the gauge adjustment (changing needle size from 17 to 15). It seems that the weight of the wool kind of pulls the sweater…
Adjusted pattern for gauge and ended up with VERY wide
bump…
Are you sure your row gauge was correct too?
Unfortunately, there was no row gauge specified. That would have given me a clue!
Did you try blocking the sweater?
Believe it or not, I ripped the whole thing out and started a new sweater with the same yarn. Of course, this time I’m knitting to gauge!
Sometimes that’s all you can do!
