Adjust stitches to nearest 5 + 2 number

Does anyone know what this means? To adjust to nearest 5 + 2 number?

A repeat of 5+2 would be 12 (2x5=10+2=12), 17 (3x5=15+2=17), 22 (4x5=20+2=22), etc.
