I was wondering if you add yarn the same way for knit stitch and purl stitch.
I have a problem adding yarn when I’ve been purling every stitch. (Purling is so much easier for me).
I havn’t tried it with the knit stitch yet. What happens is when I take the new yarn, I tie it around the existing yarn and bring it all the way up to the first stitch. Then when I purl with the new color, a couple rows, it (where the new yarn is attached) sags like it’s weighing it down.
Any answers would be appreciated…Thanks in advance.
When adding a new skein you should knit or purl only 2 or 3 stitches with both strands. At the top of the page you will see a tab called view videos. You might want to look through all the wonderful video’s we have available.
Right, I did see them but would that work for adding different colored yarn? Would you have to twist the 2 strands as if you wanted to carry them up throughout the piece.
That’s one thing the dvd I bought mentioned. THANKS!
depends on how frequently you will be changing color, but for a big strip across your entire project, just do a Russian join, instead of twisting 2 strands, hook them together so the strands double back on their own color, THEN twist
there is a video about that, or at least a pic of how to do it.
